Ever sense I was a child I have been fascinated with history. The literary world has offered me an outlet to explore the history through a fictional lens. Growing up   I loved to read books like Robert Louis Stevenson’s Treasure Island. My all-time favorite historical fiction would be The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald, the Count of Monte Cristo by Alexander Dumas. The combination between history and fantasy really peaks my interest. Most of the books in my library are history books and biographies, followed by historical fiction novels. My movie collection is almost exclusively historical fiction based on novels. Some include The Golden Compass, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Zorro.
